Beams the notes of every measure of a part by the meter in force, and
points the stems of each beamed group one way: music21’s makeBeams.
A stream that is a measure is beamed itself. The meter in force is the last one stated by a measure or standing in the part at or before the measure. A measure with none, or holding more than its bar’s length, is left as it is; grace notes are passed over. A measure is beamed voice by voice where it has voices.
An error stops the beaming where it stands, leaving the measures before it beamed and no stems set, as an exception in music21’s does.
