Ornaments and what they play.
Ornaments: the part of music21’s expressions module that changes what
is played.
A mordent, a trill, a turn, an appoggiatura or a tremolo is written as one note and played as several. Each ornament here knows the note it decorates only through the pitch and the key signature it is given: from those it works out its ornamental pitches – the neighbour a step above or below, spelled by the key unless the ornament carries an accidental of its own – and realizes the note as the notes actually played.
