Variants

SkipConsecutive

A note or chord sounding just what the one before sounded is passed over: music21’s skipConsecutive.

RowsOnly

Every note counts, and a segment is a run of distinct pitch classes: music21’s rowsOnly.

IncludeAll

Every note counts: music21’s includeAll.

IgnoreAll

A segment is as many notes as sound its number of distinct pitch classes: music21’s ignoreAll.
