Marks joining several notes: slurs.
Spanners: marks that join several notes, music21’s spanner module.
music21 keeps a spanner as an object holding the very notes it joins. A
stream here owns what it holds, so a spanner names its notes by where they
stand instead: by their positions in Stream::leaves of the stream the
spanner belongs to, first to last.
