Expand description

Which of music21’s spanner classes a spanner is.

Variants§

§

Slur

A curve joining notes played in one breath or bow: music21’s Slur.

§

Crescendo

A hairpin opening out, growing louder: music21’s Crescendo.

§

Diminuendo

A hairpin closing, growing softer: music21’s Diminuendo.

§

Ottava

An octave line, 8va or 15mb: music21’s Ottava.

§

Line

A bracket or line over notes, as a ligatura or a passage to be played together: music21’s Line.

§

PedalMark

How long a pedal is held: music21’s PedalMark.

§

TrillExtension

The wavy line carrying a trill on past its note: music21’s TrillExtension.

§

ArpeggioMark

One arpeggio across several chords, as across both hands’ staves: music21’s ArpeggioMarkSpanner.

§

Glissando

A glissando or a slide from one note to the next: music21’s Glissando.

§

TremoloSpanner

A tremolo alternating between two notes: music21’s TremoloSpanner.

§

Neume

Notes sung to one syllable as one figure, as chant writes them: music21’s volpiano Neume.

Implementations§

Source§

impl SpannerKind

Source

pub fn class_name(self) -> &'static str

music21’s class name for the kind.

Source

pub fn numbering_class(self) -> &'static str

The class spanners of this kind are counted with where music21 numbers them for a score: a crescendo and a diminuendo are both hairpins, DynamicWedge, and share their numbers.

Source

pub fn is_wedge(self) -> bool

Whether this is a hairpin: music21’s DynamicWedge.
